Nectar Collector

Nectar Collector

Definition: A nectar collector is a handheld, straw-shaped tool for vaporizing cannabis concentrates. Instead of placing a dab on a hot nail, you heat the tip of the collector and touch it directly to the concentrate in a dish while inhaling. It’s sometimes called a honey straw or dab straw.

How Does a Nectar Collector Work?

A nectar collector has a mouthpiece at one end and a heat-resistant tip at the other, often with a small water chamber in between to cool the vapor. You heat the tip with a torch, or with a built-in battery on electric models, then touch it to your concentrate. The concentrate vaporizes on contact and travels up the tube.

What Are Nectar Collector Tips Made Of?

  • Quartz: clean flavor, heats quickly, cools quickly
  • Titanium: very durable and holds heat well, though flavor can be less pure
  • Ceramic: even heat and good flavor, but more fragile

Nectar Collector vs. Dab Rig

A nectar collector gives you more control over how much concentrate you take, since you can sip from a larger amount instead of loading a single dab. It’s also more portable. A dab rig offers more cooling and bigger hits.

Safety Tips

The tip gets extremely hot. Always rest it on a heat-proof stand or dish, never on a table or your skin, and keep torches away from flammable materials. Use a silicone or glass dish for your concentrate.
