Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome

Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome

Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS) is a rare and severe form of epilepsy that begins in early childhood. It is characterized by multiple types of seizures, including tonic seizures, atonic seizures, and myoclonic seizures. Children with LGS may also have cognitive impairment and behavioral problems.

Epidiolex is a prescription medication that is made from cannabidiol (CBD), a compound found in the cannabis plant. CBD is thought to work by reducing the electrical activity in the brain. Epidiolex has been shown to be effective in reducing seizures in children with LGS in clinical trials.
