Proposition 64 (Prop 64), also known as the Adult Use of Marijuana Act, is a California law that legalized the recreational use of marijuana for adults aged 21 and over. It was passed by voters on November 8, 2016, and went into effect on January 1, 2018.

Prop 64 allows adults to possess, cultivate, transport, purchase, obtain, or give away up to one ounce of marijuana or 8 grams of concentrated cannabis to other adults aged 21 and over. It also allows adults to cultivate up to six plants per residence and possess the marijuana produced by those plants.

Prop 64 also established a regulatory system for the commercial sale of marijuana. Licensed dispensaries began selling marijuana to adults on January 1, 2018.
